These typographic experiments were made using “Metafont” as the starting point. “Metafont” was devised by Donald Knuth, as a companion to his “TeX” typesetting system, it allows a user to easily customize a font within the given parameters and generate a large range of font families very easily. This brings to light the question: who is the actual owner of the adjusted “Metafont” and by creating a type specimen using the generated fonts, can they be claimed as the designer’s own even if slightly tweaked?
